Poemasabi Note: Labels

I have changed labeling a little. For those of you who have poems from last school year published here they are now labeled by school-year, grade and teacher. For instance, if your poem was labeled 2j last year, it is now labeled 10-11-2j. This years poems from new classrooms will be labeled school-year, grade and teacher initials. For example, 11-12-2kc.

It wasn't easy and please feel free to let me know if I messed the labeling up at all.

We are getting ready for a new batch of k-2 poets.

Bus

The bus is bright yellow

Winter

So much snow
it's really cold
so go play

get excited
get bundled up quickly
make a snowman really fast now
because it's time to have a snowball fight

Fall

leaves are falling
birds are calling
so go out and play
and say yay!

Blue

Comes light or dark
a popular color
the sky
pretty

A Spring 5757 Poem

We were talking about Haiku and that led to this abstraction, instead of syllable counts 5,7,5 we have 5,7,5,7 syllable counts. This form was created by OrangeFace.

The birds are calling
Come outside and play with me
It is so much fun
Flowers are blooming again

Fall

Messy outside
We jump in to a pile of leaves
The ground is filled with leaves
The leaves turn colors
comes then....

Spring

Like the 575 below, this pattern is based on a Japanese poem form. This is instead Senryu, 3-3-3. So we'll call these 333 Poems.

Flowers are blooming
It's much warmer
Animals are out

Winter

Based on Haiku but using word counts instead of syllables. We'll call this a 575 Poem.

A flake falling from sky
the leaves are falling off of trees
comes every year and goes
